On these Hondas, Bill (a working locksmith in Arizona) adds keys with an Autel IM608 using a registered key, cycling the ignition on and off when the tool tells him to, and watching the immobilizer light.

2017 Honda Accord Key Programming (Remote Head Key) (5 min)
The IM608 reads the VIN and identifies a fourth-generation blade key system. With the registered key in, the tool runs and shows three keys already learned. Then it walks Bill through timed ignition on/off steps, swapping in the new key. The first time, the immobilizer lamp didn’t go out and he had to redo the step. After that the system shows four keys.
The new key starts the car. The new remote’s buttons didn’t work yet, so he goes into the separate remote learning function. Key and remote are two different jobs.

The customer wanted a plain key, no remote.
Bill traces the existing key and cuts a standalone transponder (chip) key on both sides. Then with the IM608 he adds it: two keys were already in the system, and he follows the ignition off/on steps until the immobilizer lamp goes out. The Fit starts on the new key.

The red security light says the new key isn’t recognized yet.
Bill cuts the high-security key on the 3D Elite. With it in the ignition the security light stays on, so the car doesn’t recognize it. Using a working key, the IM608 adds keys (not all keys lost). He programs the keys one at a time, follows the ignition steps and watches for the light to go out. All three keys he had on hand work, two of them newly added.
